Requirements
VirtConsole has two parts with different requirements: the management server (runs the panel) and the hypervisors (run the virtual machines). Check both before you install.
Management server
Section titled “Management server”The machine where the panel, database and APIs run.
| Requirement | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Debian 11, 12 or 13. RHEL 9 or 10 (Rocky, AlmaLinux). Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04 or 26.04. | Debian or RHEL recommended for production. |
| RAM | 4 GB | More if you also run object storage on the same machine. |
| Disk | 20 GB | SSD recommended. |
| Ports | 80 and 443 open inbound | The panel is served over HTTPS. |
Hypervisor (KVM host)
Section titled “Hypervisor (KVM host)”A physical or virtual host that runs customer instances. Each hypervisor runs the agent (the installer still calls it the slave agent).
| Requirement | Minimum | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Debian 11, 12 or 13. RHEL 9 or 10 (Rocky, AlmaLinux). Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04 or 26.04. | Clean server. No existing control panel, PHP, nginx or Redis installs. |
| CPU | VT-x with EPT (Intel) or AMD-V with RVI (AMD) | Check with `grep -E ’(vmx |
| RAM | Depends on the instances you plan to sell | The panel supports memory overcommit. |
| Disk | Depends on your plans | Any mix of HDD, SAS, SSD, NVMe. |
| Ports | 2443 reachable from the management server | The panel pushes every command to the agent over HTTPS on this port. Running CSF? See CSF firewall for the full host port list. |
Proxmox VE node
Section titled “Proxmox VE node”An alternative to the agent: the panel manages Proxmox VE 8 and 9 nodes through the Proxmox API, with nothing to install on the node. You need an API token from the Proxmox web interface. See Add a Proxmox VE node.
