Introduction
VirtConsole is a self-hosted control panel for KVM virtualization. You install it on a management server you own, connect one or more hypervisors (physical KVM hosts) to it, and use the panel or its API to provision, monitor and bill virtual machines (VMs).
It is built for two audiences. Hosting operators get an admin panel that covers hypervisors, storage, networking, plans, billing and support. Their customers get a separate user panel where they create and manage their own instances.
What you can run on it
Section titled “What you can run on it”VirtConsole covers the full lifecycle of a hosting platform:
- Instances (virtual machines) with power control, VNC console, reinstall, rescue mode, snapshots and live migration between hypervisors.
- IPv4 and IPv6 management with subnets, reverse DNS, NAT, private networking (VPC), security groups, load balancers and VPN gateways.
- Automated backups, backup policies, block storage volumes and an S3-compatible object storage service.
- Higher-level platform services: Kubernetes clusters, managed databases and scaling groups.
The three billing models
Section titled “The three billing models”VirtConsole supports three ways to sell virtual machines. They operate independently, and you can run more than one at the same time.
External billing integrations. VirtConsole ships modules for WHMCS, Blesta, HostBill and Paymenter. Orders, provisioning, suspension and upgrades are driven by the billing system you already use. See Billing Integrations.
Cloud Service. A built-in pay-as-you-go model. Customers top up credit, then create instances from plans that are billed per hour. The panel suspends instances when credit runs out and resumes them after a top-up. See Cloud Service.
Self-Provisioning packs. You sell a pack of resources (CPU, RAM, disk, IPs) up front. The customer creates and destroys instances inside their quota whenever they like. See Self-Provisioning packs.
Support
Section titled “Support”Every VirtConsole license includes access to the support team at no extra cost: 24/7 response for production incidents, direct access to the engineering team, and no ticket or volume limits. Secure remote diagnostics with a full audit trail are covered in Support access.
